Hard Candy is an exploitation film, with very little happening but a guy getting tortured for about 75 minutes of screen time.. Hard Candy is sweet poison indeed.. Movies usually show bullets as if they're generic, anonymous masses of metal coming off a conveyor belt, while Lord of War wants us to see that each bullet is inscribed with somebody's name.. Exhausting every trick in the book to illustrate the depravity of its protagonist, the film grows as out of control as its washed up anti-hero.....
